So, you want a better brain? Well, who doesn’t? The good news is, our brains are neuroplastic, which means we can change how they operate. Don’t like how yours is operating? Switch it up. You have to be willing to get pretty goofy and do some weird stuff, but think of it like this: when you play with a baby, do you try to keep a straight face? Nope, you want to make that baby laugh, and you get silly. Engaging your neuroplastic brain works on kind of the same principles—recognizing your negative thought loops (the “baby” throwing a tantrum), and physically derailing them (picking up the baby, offering comfort) and replacing them with something positive (distracting the baby, making her laugh). You MUST move your body, You have to talk to yourself kindly, gently, and with authority. You have to be consistent. Really importantly: you have to believe you can feel better, and that you deserve to feel better. #blindcontours #contourdrawingshow #neuroplasticity #neuralretraining
